Wat stelt het voor<\/strong><\/p>\n

Het uitgangspunt voor dit beeld is de knop van een plant.
\nVanuit het straatvlak rijst een knop op die nog moet ontwaken.
\nIn de grond vind je de fossiele knop, de oervorm terug, als tegenovergestelde van het bovengrondse deel.<\/p>\n

Een fossiel is een in de aarde aangetroffen versteend dier, plant of een versteende afdruk daarvan. In de voormalige Zuiderzeebodem worden veel fossielen gevonden. Vaak versteende schelpen.<\/p>\n

Beide delen van het kunstwerk passen overigens in elkaar, het is alleen\u00a0 wel even puzzelen op welke manier.<\/p>\n

Verf<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dit kunstwerk kreeg augustus 2003 een nieuw likje verf.
\nIn de raadscommissie-vergadering, die hier achter u in het gemeentehuis vergaderen, werd geopperd het kunstwerk, dat een tulp verbeeld, een fleurige kleurtje te geven.
\nHet is duidelijk dat dit niet zomaar kan. Het is niet: wie betaald, die bepaald<\/em>, nee, het is de de kunstenaar die bepaalt !<\/p>\n

Riskant<\/strong><\/p>\n

Het blijft een riskant groot gat midden in de stoep.
\nDe gemeente heeft het goed opgelost door het kunstwerk in de avond fraai in het licht te zetten.<\/p>\n

It is made by the artist Sjoerd Buisman (1992)<\/p>\n

What does it represent<\/strong><\/p>\n

Starting point for this work is \u2018the bud of a plant\u2019.
\nA plant rises up from the street. In the ground you will find the fossil bud, the prim\u00e9val shape back, as the opposit of the above-ground part.
\nA fossil is the naturally preserved remains or traces of animals or plants that lived in the past.
\nThere are many fossils found here on the former Zuiderzee.
\nBoth parts fit will together, it is only a matter of puzzling in which way.<\/p>\n

Back in 2003, the city council, meeting behind you in the town hall, wanted to give the artwork a fresh coat of paint.
\nThey thought the artwork looked like a tulip, so what about red.
\nBut it is not: who pays, who decides<\/em>, no, it is the artist who decides.
\nSo no fancy colors.<\/p>\n

It is a big risky hole in the middle of the sidewalk.
\nBut they solved it verry well by lightning the artwork during the night in a beautifull way.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
